Spicy Cruise Experts: What We’ve Learned After Years on Bliss Cruise

If you’ve never been on a Bliss Cruise before, you’re probably wondering what it’s actually like.

We get this question all the time, and honestly, we had the same exact thoughts before our first one. What’s the vibe? Is it overwhelming? Are people friendly? What are you supposed to do all day? What do you wear? Will we stick out? How do we meet people? What if we’re not ready?

After years of sailing, hosting groups, and experiencing it from both sides, here are the 9 biggest things we’ve learned that will help you feel prepared, confident, and actually excited stepping onboard!

  1. It’s Way More About Social Connection Than People Expect

The biggest misconception is that it’s all about the sexual and physical experiences.
In reality, most of your time is spent:

    • Connecting with your partner
    • Meeting people
    • Talking, laughing, and building connections
    • Hanging out at the pool, parties, and other various events

The social side is the foundation of everything. If you come in focused only on “what might happen,” you’ll miss what actually makes these cruises so fun.

    The best mindset:
Go to meet people without expectations and see where it takes you.

  2. You Control Your Experience 100%

One of the most important things to understand is that nothing is required or expected of you.
    You can:

    • Go to every event
    • Go to just a few or even none of them
    • Stay in your cabin
    • Be social all day
    • Do a group dinner
    • Have dinner with your partner

There is zero pressure! This is something we didn’t fully understand before our first cruise, but it’s what makes the environment feel safe and comfortable. Everyone is there by choice, and everyone respects boundaries.

Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint! Choose a few activities you really want to do each day, and if you don’t make it to all of them, don’t stress. You don’t want to spread yourself too thin or miss out on the moment you’re in by constantly thinking about the next event.

  3. The Vibe Is Extremely Warm and Welcoming

A lot of first-timers worry about feeling judged or out of place. That has not been our experience at all!
    What we’ve consistently seen:

    • People are friendly and open
    • Conversations are easy to start and join
    • Everyone remembers what it felt like to be new

You’ll see all types of people, all different comfort levels, and that’s part of what makes it work! We’ve never felt more seen, comfortable, or free than on a Bliss Cruise. From the staff to the guests, the friendliness and openness are immediately noticeable. It’s one of the kindest, most welcoming groups of people we’ve experienced, and something you truly have to experience for yourself!

  4. There’s Always Something to Do (But You Don’t Have to Do It All!)

From themed parties to hands-on workshops and playroom dance and plays, and MORE, there’s always full schedule on Bliss Cruise.
    But one mistake we see:

Trying to do everything. You don’t need to! Some of the best moments happen:

    • Sitting by the pool
    • Conversations at the late night snacks
    • Going with the flow instead of sticking to a plan

Use the schedule as a guide, not a checklist! Don’t get caught up in what’s next instead of enjoying what’s happening now.

  5. Communication With Your Partner Is Everything

Before you even step on the ship, talk with your partner about:

    • Boundaries
    • Comfort levels
    • Expectations

And keep that communication going throughout the trip.

Your experience will be significantly better if you:

    • Check in with each other
    • Stay aligned
    • Move at a pace that feels good for both of you

This is one of the biggest factors in whether people have a great experience or a stressful one.

  6. You Don’t Need to “Be Experienced” to Go

Another common misconception is that you need experience beforehand.
You don’t! Bliss Cruise is actually one of the easiest environments to:

    • Learn
    • Observe
    • Ease into things at your own pace

Many people attend their very first time with no prior experience at all! And so many come back for more!

  7. The Energy Builds Throughout the Trip

Each day feels a little different.

    • Day 1: Meeting people, getting comfortable
    • Mid-cruise: Connections deepen, energy builds
    • Final days: Everyone is more relaxed and social

If things feel slow at first, that’s normal. It picks up naturally as the days go on.

  8. Respect and Consent Are the Foundation

This is what makes everything work. The culture onboard is built around:

    • Clear communication
    • Mutual respect
    • No pressure

If something isn’t for you, a simple “no” is always enough.

  9. Your Experience Is What You Make It

There’s no “right” way to do a Bliss Cruise. Some people:

    • Go all-in on events and socializing
    • Keep things low-key and relaxed
    • Focus on meeting friends
    • Focus on spending time together

All of those are valid and it all depends on person to person, couple to couple. Take everything at your own pace!

Final Thoughts

If you’re considering your first Bliss Cruise, the best thing you can do is go in with:

  • An open mind
  • No pressure on yourselves
  • A focus on connection over expectation

Everything else tends to fall into place from there. These are just some of the things we’ve personally learned over the years, and what we consistently see with both first-timers and returning guests. The Bliss Cruise experience is truly one-of-a-kind, and every sailing is different, which keeps us coming back time and time again!
