I want to talk openly about why sexual health education is so important, especially for those in the lifestyle community.
My role as director of education goes beyond arranging workshops on board. I seek to help build a culture where adults can explore their sexuality with more knowledge, confidence, safety, and respect. People often describe the lifestyle as exciting, liberating, and sexually adventurous, and it truly can be. But real sexual freedom takes more than just access and opportunity. I often say in my workshops you don’t get great sexual education until you enter the lifestyle.
Sexual health is not limited to preventing sexually transmitted infections. It includes consent, communication, regular testing, safer-sex practices, mental health, body awareness, sexual functioning, boundaries, and the ability to reach well-informed decisions free from pressure or shame. It also includes understanding how aging, hormones, medications, stress, trauma, and relationship changes can affect desire and intimacy.
These conversations matter because people do not stop asking questions simply because they are sexually experienced. I find greater sexual exploration often creates a greater need for honest, accurate, and judgment-free information. That’s exactly what Bliss Education brings to our passengers.
Personally, I was never taught how to talk about my sexual needs. People may know how to ask someone to play, but not how to clearly discuss boundaries, testing, barrier use, emotional expectations, or what happens if someone changes their mind. Others may have difficulty with low desire, erectile concerns, discomfort during sex, difficulty reaching orgasm, jealousy, performance anxiety, or differences in desire between partners. These are not personal failures. They are legitimate sexual-health concerns deserving compassion, education, and if necessary, appropriate professional support.
That is why education is central to the Bliss experience. Bliss Cruise is not simply a lifestyle cruise vacation or a series of parties. We are creating a place where pleasure and responsibility go hand in hand. Our educational programs connect guests with knowledgeable presenters and real conversations about sexual health, intimacy, relationships, consent, pleasure, and self-improvement that feel good both during the encounter and afterward.
Consent is also not a a one-time question. Consent should be informed, specific, and ongoing. Anyone can withdraw it at any time. Alcohol, pressure, assumptions, status, or being part of the lifestyle never takes away someone’s right to say no, slow down, or change their mind.
As a woman of color as well as a professional who has spent years challenging shame, guilt, and misinformation around sexuality, I also understand that sexual-health conversations must be inclusive. People enter the lifestyle from different cultures, identities, orientations, relationship structures, abilities, and life experiences. Education must respect those differences rather than treating everyone’s sexual journey as the same. My vision for Bliss is clear. We can be sexually bold and medically responsible, while protecting our health. We can explore fantasies while observing boundaries. We can have amazing experiences without losing emotional intelligence or personal accountability.
I encourage every member of the lifestyle community to ask:
- When was my last sexual health screening?
- Have I discussed testing and protection openly with my partner or prospective partners?
- Do I communicate my boundaries clearly?
- Do I listen to and respect others’ boundaries?
- Am I making decisions from genuine desire rather than pressure?
- Do I know where to seek qualified help when something changes physically, sexually, or emotionally?
Sexual wellness is not about being perfect or removing every risk. It is about being informed, intentional, and empowered.
At Bliss, we are not just creating opportunities for adults to explore. We are helping set a higher standard for how exploration should happen, with education, consent, respect, responsibility, health and pleasure at the center.
